Fan DiAssistant Professor and Discipline Leader of Fashion Business, School of Fashion and Textiles at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Dr. Fan is currently an Assistant Professor and Discipline Leader of Fashion Business, the School of Fashion and Textiles at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining PolyU, he was an Assistant Professor at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST, 2015-2018) and Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU, 2019-2020).

He is a researcher in the areas of sustainable operations management and global supply chain. He has published in prestigious academic journals including Journal of Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management and Decision Sciences. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Operations Management and Editorial board member of Decision Sciences.

He has received several research related awards including the IACMR 2017 Presidential Award of Responsible Research, 2020 Jack Meredith Best Paper Award, 2022 Honorable Mention of Reviewer Service, and 2023 Best Reviewer Award of Journal of Operations Management.

His research findings and commentaries were featured in over 100 reports from international media including The Guardian, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Nikkei Asia, Vogue Business, Just Style, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age (Melbourne) and Hong Kong local media including South China Morning Post, Ming Pao, HKET, HKEJ and Headline Daily.

Dr Fan is currently the discipline leader of fashion business, and the program leader of Master of Sustainable Fashion and Innovation (PolyU). He had served as the program leader of Master of Supply Chain Management (MUST) and Master of Project Management (ANU).
