The Municipal Solid Waste Charging (MSWC) Scheme is scheduled to take effect in August, aiming to reduce the volume of waste disposed ofin landfills in Hong Kong. Currently, 11,128 tonnes of waste is disposed of daily contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and subsequent global warming. This provides an excellent opportunity for retail businesses to take action, reduce waste and reevaluate their sustainability practices.
Join us for the Impact Now! Series of this upcoming session, where we will focus on helping fashion and luxury retail brands identify and integrate sustainability practices into their businesses. The session will be presented by Robert Lockyer, Founder & Chief Client Officer of Delta Global, a leading luxury sustainable packaging expert. He will be joined by Harold Yip, Co-founder, Mil Mill, a recycling leader in HK, Dr. Fan Di, Assistant Professor and Discipline Leader of Fashion Business, School of Fashion and Textiles at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Mathilde Bétinas, Head of Business Development & Partners at OnTheList, a circular economy pioneer and Nissa Cornish, Executive Director at Redress, a circular fashion NGO.
The following will be covered:
- How fashion and luxury retail brands can integrate sustainability practices into every facet of their business
- How brands can effectively communicate their sustainability efforts
- Tips for maximising sustainability and reducing overall waste
This session is open to all members & non-members and will be especially relevant for brands in the fashion and luxury retail industry.
