30 years on: The Hong Kong Basic Law today

The Hong Kong Basic Law was promulgated in 1990 and since then has served as the de facto constitution of the city.

In light of the 30th anniversary of the declaration of the Hong Kong Basic Law, on 2 July 2020 we were joined by Danny Gittings, author of Introduction to the Hong Kong Basic Law, to review the historical background and implementation of the law and to provide you with a deeper understanding of how the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle is being applied.
