Opportunities for public-private co-creation to build a smarter, more liveable, more sustainable city

In the coming decade, improved cooperation between the public and private sectors can help the city to address its most pressing urban challenges, including improving liveability for residents, repurposing underused land and buildings, and taking care of a growing elderly population.

At this joint-chamber webinar, Julian Vella, Co-Head of Infrastructure, KPMG China, will share highlights from their recent white paper, Future Hong Kong 2030, published in cooperation with CLP, Cyberport, HKBN JOS, Smart City Consortium, Siemens, Weave Co-Living and Wilson Group. The report analyses the factors shaping Hong Kong’s smart city transformation over the next ten years and looks at how improving smart city governance can help Hong Kong achieve its goals.

In addition, a panel comprising Julian Vella (KPMG), Keith Cheng (Siemens) and Henry Louie (Wilson Group) will discuss the current challenges of public-private collaboration on smart city projects and innovative partnership models that can help to encourage collaboration between the government, corporates, start-ups, and academic institutions. The panel will also share best practices from other leading cities.
