Join us for an inspiring session where Catya Martin will share her experiences and commitments to the French and local communities
Former press attaché, communication director, and Chief of Staff in France, Catya Martin decided to move abroad where she embraced a career as a journalist.
She first lived in New York from 2000 to 2005, where she was a permanent member of the editorial team for the international edition of Le Figaro “France-Amérique” and a correspondent in New York for various French-speaking media (Radio Canada, La Dépêche du Midi…). After New York, she moved to Tokyo in 2007, working as a reporter for Japanese television (NHK). Finally, after many years abroad, she decided to settle in Hong Kong in 2008. She started a new journey by founding 'Trait D'Union' (the only monthly French-language news magazine in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China) and later founded “La French Radio Hong Kong et Macao” in 2019.
Alongside her career, she demonstrated a strong desire to engage in associations to give back and help the French and local communities. She became deeply involved in various French associations during her stays, including the Fédération Internationale des Accueils Français et Francophones d'Expatriés. In 2010, she committed to Rotary International and presided over the Discovery Bay Rotary Club to give back to the local communities.
Her commitment led her to run for and be elected as a councilor and representative of French citizens abroad for the Assembly of French Citizens Abroad (AFE) for Asia and Oceania in 2014, and she was re-elected in 2021. At the same time, she became President of the Consular Council and President of the Security and Health Risks Commission at the AFE.

* For in-person events, no-show penalty of HK$200 will be charged for members and non-members, unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.
* By attending our events, you agree to be photographed and/or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in promotional and/or marketing materials.
* The Chamber reserves the right to cancel or postpone its events.
* Our events are closed to the media. Special coverage of Chamber events may be permitted on a case-by-case basis and only if prior permission has been sought.
* If Typhoon 8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted, all events will be cancelled.
For paid events for both members and non members:
* The booking will be confirmed exclusively upon completion of the online payment. CASH PAYMENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
