Join this in-person China Committee session to hear from Professor Jean-Pierre Cabestan, Research Professor of Political Science, Department of Government and International Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University, about his analysis on 'China and the risks in the Taiwan strait and elsewhere'.

During this China Committee session, Prof Cabestan will share with you his view on some complicated international relations issues, and the latest updates on the Taiwan Strait. Other key relationships with China’s neighbouring countries will also be discussed – with Japan regarding the Senkaku-Diaoyu area, and with India regarding the Sino-Indian border and the South China Sea. He will also shed light on the competition between China and the US, the China-US rivalry, and analyse the possibility armed conflict in the near future.

There will be ample time for a Q&A session, while copies of Prof Cabestan's latest book Demain la Chine : guerre ou paix will be available to be purchased and signed by the author. Participants will be able to enjoy a special price at 270 HKD. Limited places will be given on first-come, first-served basis.
