Emmanuel Le CottierCo-Founder & CEO, Lexibook

A Family Story

Born in 1969, Emmanuel Le Cottier grew up in an entrepreneurial environment. In 1981, his father, Luc Le Cottier, founded Linguistic Electronic System, a company that initially distributed electronic products before beginning to design and manufacture its own products in 1986.

In 1993, Emmanuel and his twin brother Aymeric joined the family business. Together, they launched their first product, a French electronic dictionary, and created a brand for it that would eventually become the name of the group: Lexibook.

Building an International Leader

Under the leadership of the two brothers, Lexibook gradually expanded its activities. In 1998, the acquisition of YENO, a company specialising in educational computers, marked the group's entry into the toy industry. Lexibook subsequently developed a strategy combining its own brands with major international licences, including Disney and Marvel, establishing itself as the European leader in licensed electronic leisure products for children. Listed on Euronext Paris, the group recorded revenue of €80 million for the financial year ended 31 March 2026.

The division of responsibilities between the twins is one of the keys to this success: Aymeric, Chairman of the Management Board, oversees product development and finance from France, while Emmanuel, Managing Director, leads sales and commercial development worldwide.

Hong Kong, the Centre of Gravity

Convinced that the group's future lies in being closer to its suppliers and major markets, Emmanuel Le Cottier relocated to Hong Kong in early 2026. From Lexibook Limited, based in Kowloon Bay, he manages a team of approximately 95 employees and divides his time between Hong Kong, Shenzhen and France.

He oversees the group's development in the United States, working with retailers such as Walmart and Target, as well as its distribution across Asia. A recognised specialist in international trade, he has extensive expertise in all the mechanisms that contribute to an exporter's success: Incoterms, mass retail margin structures, channel management and distributor networks across more than 62 countries.

The Man Behind the Business Leader

Emmanuel Le Cottier is the father of five children. Passionate about the sea and mountains, he enjoys hiking, sailing and windsurfing. He regularly sails in Hong Kong waters and takes part in regattas as a crew member.

A second-generation entrepreneur, he embodies a particular vision of the French family business: firmly rooted in its heritage, yet resolutely focused on the world and innovation.
