Jens EskelundPresident, EU Chamber of Commerce in China Chief Representative, Greater China & Northeast Asia, A.P. Moller – Maersk

Mr. Eskelund brings extensive experience from the shipping and logistics sector, along with a unique perspective as the elected President of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China. A frequent commentator on trade, economic policy, and EU–China relations, he offers a deeper understanding of the business environment in China.

Born in 1970 in Aarhus, Denmark, Mr. Eskelund holds an MA in philosophy and has studied at the University of Aarhus and the University of Texas at Austin. After pursuing studies in Chinese at Renmin University in Beijing, he began his career in China in 1998 as a Commercial Officer at the Danish Embassy. He then joined Maersk Line in Beijing in 2000, where he now serves as Chief Representative for Maersk in the Greater China Area and North-East Asia. Mr. Eskelund has also served for a decade as Chairman of the Liner Shipping Working Group of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), where he was elected president in May 2023 and re-elected in May 2025.
