Kelvin LauSenior Economist, Greater China, Standard Chartered

Kelvin is a member of the Bank's Greater China research team, with over 14 years of experience in economic analysis. He specialises in offshore Renminbi development, and provides research on the economies of Hong Kong and southern China and their integration. Kelvin co-authored the book The Offshore Renminbi: The Rise of the Chinese Currency and Its Global Future (Wiley, 2012). He was also instrumental in the construction of the Standard Chartered Renminbi Globalisation Index, the first industry benchmark that tracks the progress of the currency's internationalisation. His views are frequently quoted by international and local media. He joined the Bank in 2000. Kelvin has a BSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
