Rocco YimPrincipal, Rocco Design Architects Associates

Rocco Yim was born and educated in Hong Kong, and is currently Principal of Rocco Design Architects Associates Ltd.
Since winning a First Prize Award for the L’Opéra de la Bastille international competition in 1983, his works have consistently been awarded both in Hong Kong and overseas. Recent accolades include ARCASIA Gold Medals in 1994 & 2003, Kenneth F. Brown Award in 2007, WAF category winner in 2011, ULI Global Award in 2014, German Design Council Iconic Awards in 2014 & 2016, the Plan Award in 2017, and Chicago Athenaeum Architectural Awards in 2006, 2011, 2013, 2016 & 2024.
Rocco is a regular invited speaker in local and international symposia, including the 2001 Harvard GSD Symposium, keynote speakers at World Architecture Festival 2014 and UIA World Congress 2021. His works have been published in various regional and global journals, and have been exhibited five times in the Venice Biennale over the last decade. He also held a solo exhibition at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin in 2013.
He is currently Honorary Professor at CUHK, Adjunct Professor at HKU and HKU SPACE, Museum Adviser to LCSD. He was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences by HKU in 2013, Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts by HKADC and HKIA Gold Medal in 2024.
