Hear from Michael Mainville and Charlotte Mason from AFP about their sharing of AFP's human-centric news approach, and their digital investigation.

Join this in-person morning talk to hear from Michael Mainville, Regional Director, and Charlotte Mason, Deputy Regional Head of Digital Investigation from Agence France-Presse.

This morning talk intends to provide participants a nuanced understanding of the interconnected worlds of news and digital verification. In this digital era, we will need to pay particular attention to misinformation that could endanger people's health or lives, damage democratic processes, or promote hate speech and racism.

During this session, Michael Mainville will provide a perspective of AFP’s on-the-ground journalism in the region, emphasizing the human angle in their global reporting. Charlotte Mason will then complement this narrative by showcasing their expertise in digital investigations and concrete actions to spread basic and more advanced debunking techniques.
