Easyship raises US$4 million in Series A funding round
Easyship, the #1 global cloud-based shipping software, raises $4 million to further its goal of enabling all merchants, regardless of size and scale, to distribute their products worldwide.
Easyship, a shipping platform used by 40,000+ active SMB’s to simplify and automate logistics, announced late November that it has raised a US$4 million Series A round to empower their customers to expand their global footprint. The platform helps merchants scale worldwide, with 250+ shipping solutions with discounted rates, while their dashboard automates operational workflows and international paperwork. Easyship clients have increased international sales by 55%, cut shipping costs up to 60%, and increased merchant customer satisfaction by 43%, enabling growth.
Top execs led the round; Maximilian Bittner, ex-CEO & Founder of Lazada and Senior Advisor of Alibaba Group; and Richard Lepeu, ex-CEO of global luxury giant Richemont and board member of Yoox Net-A-Porter Group. Seed investors, Lamivoie Capital Partners, with Richard Lepeu as co-investor, have followed up on this round, along with participation from new venture funds including Rubicon Venture Capital, One Way Ventures, Kima Ventures and Picus Capital. Richard Lepeu, along with Maximilian Bittner, join Easyship’s board of advisors to propel its growth.
“Today’s global shipping market is one of the most complex pain points of any business,” said Maximilian Bittner. “Easyship has positioned itself as a market leader for making global shipping as accessible as domestic, and enabling merchants for cross-border growth.”
Founded in 2015 by Tommaso Tamburnotti, Augustin Ceyrac, and Paul Lugagne Delpon, Easyship wanted to make the complexities of shipping simple and affordable for any business. Since its launch, the team has created the world’s #1 end-to-end global shipping solution that connects SMB eCommerce stores to a network of 250+ discounted shipping solutions, enabling rapid growth for cross-border businesses. Their algorithm integrates courier solutions and international shipping regulations, while also providing real time tax & duties, and rates at checkout.
Companies leveraging the platform include Amazon, BigCommerce, Magento, Shopify Plus, Shopify, eBay, Tradegecko, Sellbrite, Etsy and more, in both eCommerce and supply chain management.
“We saw there was an opportunity when we couldn’t find a solution that was a gateway for international shipping,” said Ceyrac. “For example, it’s easy for sellers to find payment gateways that can be activated in minutes so they can start accepting all major forms of payment. Yet, there was no equivalent tool for logistics, where you could just mobilise on global sales. At the time, the only choices for small business owners were to use large enterprise solutions that were meant for Fortune 500 companies, or to integrate with multiple players to achieve a truly global solution. This is what inspired us to create Easyship.”
With the latest round, the company plans to further invest in their shipping network and product, while adding more supply chain and fulfilment providers for consumers.
