Another year, another fabulous Gala Dinner! It was an absolute pleasure to celebrate the links between the French and Hong Kong business communities last Friday with our 600 guests at the Grand Hyatt. We were also delighted to welcome Mrs Carrie Lam, Chief-Executive of the HKSAR Government as our Guest of Honour.
The evening is of course a moment where we give back to this great city and we’re proud to announce that HK$1.6 million was raised for the French Chamber Foundation and its work helping low income workers in Hong Kong. Thank you to all our guests and those who got involved in the Silent & Live Auctions as well as the Generosity Wave during the evening.
Last week we also welcomed French Government representatives from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (led by its President Marie-Guite Dufay) and their respective Chamber of Commerce to further strengthen the bonds between the region and Hong Kong. We organised meetings with our HKSAR Government and private partners along with official visits such as a tour of Veolia’s T-Park with Laurent Chainard from Veolia. Last but not least, we’re proud to support a seminar on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area held in Paris on 20 June. Mrs Carrie Lam, along with other senior government figures will be present as speakers to highlight the important role of the Bay Area as an ideal base for French companies to access business opportunities in China.
