Hager Group gets the insider’s look at Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area thanks to the French Chamber

Shenzhen: China’s answer to Silicon Valley and the innovation heartland of the Greater Bay Area. But making sense of this sprawling metropolis and its plethora of startups, developers and tech hubs is no easy task.

On 27 February, the French Chamber in Hong Kong helped its client Hager Group do just that.

As part of a one-and-a-half day tailored exploratory mission, Hager Group representatives were able to discover Shenzhen’s burgeoning innovation ecosystem and the growing opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

“We need to keep eyes on where innovation is happening, and it seems Shenzhen is that place,” said Olivier Buring, Sourcing and Supply Chain Director APAC at Hager Group, a leading supplier of solutions and services for electrical installations in all type of buildings.

With a packed agenda of targeted rendezvous’ including visits to accelerators, startups, maker and hacker spaces, co-working offices and business tech parks, Hager Group was able to access key players to better understand the intricacies of the business trends shaping Shenzhen and the wider region.

“By the end of the tour we had enough information on hand to be able to define our R&D strategy, which is critical in our sales development, to develop a competitive range meeting local customers’ expectations. On top of that, some of the startups we met represent real business opportunities moving forward,” said Buring.

The French Chamber team, with its extensive network of high level business contacts across Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area can tailor this kind of exploratory mission to your needs and help your company make the most of the region’s opportunities.
