Ready, Set, Casaque!

On a September evening at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong, Hermès unveils the men’s winter 2025 collection in a runway show against the shimmering backdrop of the city skyline and Kowloon Bay. For this Hong Kong edit with new and exclusive looks, Véronique Nichanian, Artistic Director of Men’s Universe, dives into the casaque.

Oblique forms brush across the collection: a play between front and back, inside and out, visible and invisible. The spirit of the casaque – the traditional horse racing silks integral to the house’s history – courses through the evening, with tilting tones of vanilla, blood orange, celadon blue... Juxtapositions emerge as the softness of the fabrics engages with the angularity of the patterns. Urbane and graphic, the allure shapes the silhouette through a sharp, architected vision.

A cast of Hong Kong personalities joins the models on the runway, weaving through the slants of concrete. The crush of velvet and the patina of rubberised calfskin glimmer in the light. The warmth of blanket-finished parkas beckons. The sketch of a new equestrian geometry, all promises and surprises.

Zig! Zag! Lines dart across the floor as the casaque stretches across the space. Coffee, slate, charcoal grey. Earth tones surround the architectonic environment: cities collide. Warm shades against cold concrete. Beams of light mirror the angles of the columns in lines of luminescence.

Follow the casaque: where does it lead? Games are revealed amidst a playground of colours. Whose team will be victorious? Whispers echo of a speakeasy. Beyond a maze, secret spaces await discovery.

The night takes shape between diagonals. All come together as a surprise performance begins. The casaque illuminates the club, its colours gleaming on the metal walls.
Time races on.
