Air France and KLM win APEX Awards 2025
At the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO 2024 ceremony held in Los Angeles in late October, California (USA), Air France was certified as a 5-star airline for the 3rd year running, and for the fourth consecutive year, KLM has again won the APEX World Class Award. Ben Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM, accepted the awards in Los Angeles (USA) from Joe Leader, CEO of APEX Group.
This ranking of the best airlines is compiled each year by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), a world-renowned research and evaluation organization in the field of the air travel experience. The ranking is based on the independent rating of more than one million flights by passengers from nearly 600 airlines worldwide, with scores ranging from 1 to 5 stars.
This year, the criteria have been even more demanding, limiting access to the 5-star category to only the 40 best airlines in the world, less than 7% of the airlines rated overall.
Air France – APEX 5-Star Airlines Award
This award once again testifies to the excellence of the travel experience that Air France offers its customers, in all its travel cabins. From the attention paid to each customer in terms of seat comfort, to the rich and varied catering offer and the quality of the inflight entertainment, Air France is dedicated to ensuring that each trip is an unforgettable travel experience.
“We are very proud to receive this award for the 3rd year running and particularly honoured to be included in this 5-star category, which ranks Air France among the best airlines in the world. I would like to thank all our customers for the trust they have placed in our airline by voting for us, as well as all our ground staff and flight crews, who put their expertise at the service of each and every one of our customers,” said Fabien Pelous, SVP Customer Experience at Air France.
KLM – APEX World Class Award
The World Class Award reflects performance in service, customer experiences, sustainability and safety. KLM aims to shine in relation to all these aspects: at the airport, in its lounges and of course, on board.
Barry ter Voert, CXO & EVP Business Development commented: “We are incredibly proud to have won the APEX World Class Award for the fourth year in a row. We set high standards for transporting our passengers comfortably and safely, while also focusing on making flying cleaner, quieter and more fuel-efficient. To this end, we invest heavily in fleet renewal, with the first Airbus A321neo’s entering service since August 2024. In addition to the introduction of the Airbus A321neos, we have enhanced the customer experience on our long-haul aircraft by finalizing the rollout of Premium Comfort and our new Business Class product. This award serves as fitting recognition for everyone at KLM who makes every effort, every day to provide our customers with an unforgettable experience.”
