APRIL International Care launches new TeleHEALTH service in Hong Kong
International health insurance provider APRIL International Care announces the launch of their new TeleHEALTH service, allowing their members to get in touch with a doctor 24/7 via their mobile app.
Available to all new and renewing Hong Kong clients from 1 December 2019, this new service offers the ability to request a callback from a licensed healthcare practitioner or request a second medical opinion for more serious conditions.
TeleHEALTH services are available to APRIL members via the Easy Claim mobile app, which already allows them to submit claims electronically, access policy information and insurance cards, as well as search for medical providers.
To launch this new service, APRIL International Care partnered with Teledoc Health, a global virtual care provider supported by 50,000 medical professionals and serving millions of people across 130 countries and in 30 languages.
Announcing the launch, Regional CEO of Asia, Romain DiMeglio said, “Our entry into the fast-moving telehealth arena gives all our private healthcare policyholders access to this innovative new service, irrespective of the level of cover or insurance policy module they hold. The new service can only be accessed via our App, and once downloaded, customers will be able to seek general medical advice, or a second medical opinion, in 12 different languages. This latest launch is another tangible example of our stated aim to adapt to the evolution of healthcare and go beyond the pure administrative provision of insurance. In health insurance, the important word is ‘health’.”
