Mazars - Hong Kong Budget 2023-24

The Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, delivered the 2023-24 Hong Kong budget on 22 February 2023. This is the first budget presented by the current-term Government and since the resumption of quarantine-free travel with the Mainland and international community.

Mr Chan believes that Hong Kong’s economy will be improved this year. However, the economic recovery is still in its initial stage. Mr Chan took a "moderately liberal" fiscal stance in preparing the 2023-24 Budget, with more than 80% of the resources involved in the budget initiatives to be used to benefit the general public and small and medium sized enterprises. In particular, the Government aims at supporting people in need and the impetus to economic recovery towards high quality development.
